Young Learners (YLE)
These English exams are specially designed for children between the ages of 7 & 12, using contents adapted to the requirements of the children.
There are three exam levels: Starters, Movers & Flyers. Each level is made up of three parts; reading and writing, listening and speaking. Each child receives a certificate verifying their level with a distinctive number of marks.
A good result at Movers Level is equivalent to the Common European Framework of Reference level A1. The highest level (Flyers) is equivalent to the CEFR`s level A2, which is the same level as the Key English Test (KET).
These courses at Talk Talk Academy are directed at primary school children, working on all the skills together in entertaining and fun ways, keeping in mind that the work is a greater challenge to children.
Key English Test (KET)
This exam corresponds to CEFR level A2. To reach this level of language candidates should be able to:
-
Understand and use familiar everyday expressions (e.g. very basic personal information about family and friends, employment, shopping, local environment, etc.)
-
Communicate in simple and routine situation, requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
-
Describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, education, immediate environment and other matters in areas of immediate need.
KET assesses competence in reading, listening and speaking, so the exam is made up of three parts: Reading and writing, listening and speaking.
At Talk Talk Academy these courses are directed at secondary school children and adults who have never studied English before, working all the language skills together. It may be a little hard to begin with but once the students realize they are starting to grasp things this gives them the impetus to want to improve and continue developing their language skills.
